Collection Details
Another great collection just arrived from Bill in New Jersey! While this one is a smaller group at just 12 cars total, it packs a punch with some fantastic Redline favorites.
Leading the way is a beautiful Gold Hong Kong Custom Mustang. The Custom Mustang was one of the Original 16 Hot Wheels released in 1968 and was based on the popular 1967 Ford Mustang. One interesting detail about the Hong Kong Custom Mustang is that some of the earliest versions featured an opening hood scoop. During production, paint could sometimes make its way into the engine compartment through the scoop opening, requiring extra touch-up work on the engines. To simplify manufacturing and speed up production, Mattel eventually removed the opening scoop design from later releases.
Also included is a sharp Red Custom Camaro, another member of the Original 16 lineup. The Custom Camaro was inspired by the 1967 Chevrolet Camaro and quickly became one of the most iconic Hot Wheels castings ever produced. It was the very first Hot Wheels car featured on the original 1968 package artwork and is often considered the car that launched the brand. Today, it remains one of the most collected and recognizable Redlines.
