Built like the future. Powered by a turbine.

The 1969 Hot Wheels Lotus Turbine was inspired by the radical Lotus 56 Indy car, which used a Pratt & Whitney gas turbine engine and four-wheel drive.

The real Lotus 56 put Joe Leonard on pole for the 1968 Indianapolis 500 at 171.559 mph, but mechanical problems kept it from finishing.

Hot Wheels captured that futuristic design in Spectraflame colors with redline wheels, making the Lotus Turbine one of the most distinctive cars of the early lineup.

1969 Hot Wheels. Racing history in miniature.
