1970- Power Pad

brandonnielsen

Throwback to 1970 and the iconic Power Pad! Designed by Ira Gilford and Howard Rees, this outdoor-ready concept car took inspiration from dune buggies but added its own twist.

With a transverse-mounted front engine, massive fuel tanks, and a roomy camper shell, the Power Pad was built for adventure. Its black interior, oversized wheels, and white camper shell (complete with clear windows) made it a standout.

The camper shell slides into the bed with a clever tab-and-slot system and snaps into place like a trailer hitch. A four-cylinder engine powers this classic outdoor machine, making it a true piece of automotive history.
