1970- Nitty Gritty Kitty

1970- Nitty Gritty Kitty

The Nitty Gritty Kitty (NGK) debuted in 1970, taking inspiration from the 1969 Custom Cougar casting. This model was designed for speed and style, featuring a blown V8 engine, a front air dam, and a rear spoiler, giving it a true racing aesthetic.

What sets the NGK apart is its striking factory-applied racing stripe and roundel decals, complemented by its rare black roof. Though it was produced in both blue and orange, finding one in excellent condition is quite uncommon.

The NGK’s base design was reimagined from the Custom Cougar, integrating the air dam and spoiler directly into the base casting. With larger rear wheels and medium front wheels—most of which feature bearing-style construction—the car is built to look as if it’s ready to roar down the track.

Adding to its appeal, each Nitty Gritty Kitty came with a waterslide decal sheet, allowing collectors to customize their model with sponsor logos, making every car a unique piece of Hot Wheels history.
