Casting Details
The 1969 Custom AMX is a U.S.-made Redline casting based on the sporty 1968 AMC AMX. Every example features a white interior, with early cars sporting silver-painted bearing wheels and later production cars often fitted with chrome cap-style wheels.
The hardest Spectraflame colors to find are Salmon and Antifreeze. Other colors are seen more often, while late-run colors such as Hot Pink, Magenta, Light Green, and Yellow frequently came equipped with chrome cap-style wheels.
The most desirable variation is the UK-exclusive “Ed Shaver” Custom AMX. Found only in blue on 1970 UK Racing Car Series cards, it included a unique Ed Shaver decal sheet, making it one of the rarest versions of this classic Redline.
